July 2026 Transition Notes

July 2026 is a transition administration because some jurisdictions begin using the NextGen UBE while other examinees may still sit for the legacy UBE format. The safest study plan keeps the common foundation strong while tracking the applicant's selected jurisdiction.

What Changes

  • For legacy MEE administrations, Conflict of Laws, Family Law, Trusts and Estates, and Secured Transactions stop being standalone MEE subjects effective July 2026.
  • From July 2026 through February 2028, Family Law and Trusts and Estates are expected to appear regularly through performance-task contexts.
  • NextGen UBE focuses on foundational concepts and lawyering skills, with legal resources supplied for some contextual areas.

Prep Implication

Do not delete Family Law or Trusts and Estates from the study plan. Move them into MPT and skills-context drills unless the user's jurisdiction instructions require a different emphasis.
